I created a map showcasing the severity of the Syrian Refugee crisis and thought it would be interesting to use as a way to promote awareness of the Syrian Civil War further. I linked it to an exhibition of images highlighting Syrian refugees, featuring the works of war photographer Holly Pickett, as if it were an advertisement for the show. Each dot on the map represents 500 people, and it’s captioned, “In the time it takes you to read this map, 54 more people will have fled Syria.” All information was taken from the UN Refugee Agency’s website in early 2013.
